About Us

Capricorn Taxidermists started in 1996 in Polokwane. Our first premises were at the Polokwane International Airport. In 1999 we moved to Plot 73 Tweefontein, 4km North of Polokwane on the N1 towards Louis Trichardt. We are the first registered Taxidermist in Limpopo Province. Mike is a SCI master measurer as well as a measurer for Rowland Ward.

We guarantee a 12 month turn around period once we have received all the documentation as well as mounting instructions. We strive to provide a quality service and our main aim is to replicate Our Creator’s animals as precisely as possible, this we achieve by constantly observing, researching, photographing animals and upgrading our moulds.

We use Logwin Logistics as our shipping company. We have selected them due to the fact that they are an International company and have either offices or agents in every major port and city in the world.

Due to the US Fish and Wildlife regulations we are not allowed to ship more than one client’s trophies in a crate. We are allowed to consolidate various clients’ trophies together in one shipment. Shipments to other destinations do not have this restriction and multiple hunters may be crated together.

Sending clients trophies by sea has proved to be approximately 30% cheaper than air freight, but the extended shipping period must be borne in mind. It takes approximately 6 weeks to send trophies by ship to Europe and the USA.
